Don’t Let This Happen To You
If you’re the type of person who travels a lot, has a crazy-busy schedule, or wants a simple solution to your sporadic tendencies, then this article is for you.
It’s early in the morning and you’re at home sipping your coffee, blending your smoothie, and reading your favorite blog. You’re calm, cool, and collected.
You head out the door for work – lunch in hand – and are ready to crush any obstacles that come your way.
You’ve got your gym bag packed and are ready to tackle your workout after work.
You come home from the gym sweaty and full of feel-good vibes. You take out your pre-cut veggies and whip something delicious up for dinner with plenty of time to unwind before flicking off the lights for some shuteye.
Sounds like a good day, right?
Here’s the problem; when you’re on the road, have a crazy-busy schedule, or feel like you’re a goldfish starring at glitter these days just DON’T happen!
In an effort to make your imagination become a reality, today I’ll share with you the ONE thing you can do that will help you stay on track when you’re on the road, have a crazy-busy schedule, or have a tendency of making sporadic decisions.
First things first, stop. Just stop.
Did the world just whizz by you at warp speed? Is your hair all frazzled now?
The problem with most people is that they try to do EVERYTHING all at once.
Making it to the gym for the first time in a month isn’t enough, they also want to completely revamp their diet, learn how to cook delicious recipes, and finally start meditating… all in the same day!
Do yourself a favor and simply just stop.
Stop the wondering and worrying. Stop replaying the constant “gotta’s” over and over in your head; “I gotta do this, then I gotta do that, and then this, and then that…”
Putting the brakes on the merry-go-round inside your head is a MUST.
Now that you’ve stopped the circus inside your head, you’ve got some space to work with.
Ask yourself this question; if you could only do one thing today – just one – to get closer towards reaching your goal what would it be?
This has to come deep from within you.
This is who you are.
This is who you want to be.
This aligns with your priorities, values and goals… and it’s not easy.
Once you’ve got an idea of that one thing take a long hard look at these three letters…
If you’re like most people you’ve probably chosen something big – because we all want to achieve our goals today, right now, this second.
If you could only find that secret pill that makes you lean and ripped in just 24 hours, right?
So here’s the problem; how sustainable is the ONE thing you decided you want do today?
OR better yet…
How ready, willing, and able are you to do what you’ve just decided you’re going to do?
This is where most people fall off the wagon.
DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU.
Most people are like, “Ok, ok, I hear you; ONE thing. Got it.”
Then go and choose some elaborate task – like going to the grocery store and doing a complete kitchen makeover all in one hour.
Which by the way if you’re interested, I’m hosting a Kitchen Makeover Workshop Oct 25th where I’ll show you the RIGHT way to do a kitchen makeover over the course of 3 days – for $25 it’s a GREAT value. You can sign-up here.
What good is a task that gets you closer to reaching your goal when you’re not ready, willing, and able to do it?
Not only are you going to frustrate and beat yourself up over NOT wanting to do it, it’s only a matter of time before you STOP doing it altogether.
Now imagine this, what if you chose a task so simple that you knew without a doubt, 110% “Psh, Yeah I’ve got that!” that you could succeed by doing it?
It’d almost be too easy, right?
Again here’s the problem; you’re on the road, you’ve got a crazy-busy schedule, and you’re tired of making these sporadic decisions.
So do yourself a favor and just DO the one thing you just thought of.
The next time you’re on the road stop trying to do EVERYTHING all at once. The next time you feel like your schedule is so crazy-busy STOP trying to make it happen all at once.
Instead; take a hard look at what’s most important for you to do to get closer towards your goal, and then do that ONE thing.
Again imagine this, you’re on the road, you’ve got super-busy schedule, there’s no hotel gym and you don’t have the readily available options you’re used to for meals.
It’s decision time.
What are you going to do?
Stop wondering and worrying about everything you CAN’T do and instead focus on the one thing you CAN do.
Maybe it’s a morning meditation.
Maybe it’s going for a walk simply to get moving.
Maybe it’s asking for a side of vegetables instead of fries with your dinner.
Whatever that ONE thing is that you know without a doubt, 110%, “Yes, I can do this.” DO IT.
Coming up with a plan is easy. Consistently executing a plan is not.
Most people try to do everything all at once. Most people try to do the biggest, most complex task first.
Don’t be like most people.
If the only thing you get from reading this article is the idea that you need to make things simpler, you’re already doing FAR better than most people.
